Q: How do I measure my head size for a wig?
A: Measuring your head size is important to ensure a comfortable and secure fit for your wig. You can use a flexible tape measure to measure the circumference of your head at the hairline, the front to back distance from your forehead to your nape, and the side to side distance from ear to ear. You can also use our size chart to find your wig size. If you are between sizes, we recommend taking a slightly larger size and adjusting with the straps or clips inside the cap.
Q: How do I care for my wig?
A: Caring for your wig is essential to prolong its life and keep it looking fresh and natural. You should wash your wig every 10 to 15 wears or when it becomes dull or dirty. You should use lukewarm water and a mild shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for wigs. Gently comb or brush your wig before and after washing. You should avoid rubbing, twisting or wringing your wig. You should air dry your wig on a wig stand or towel. You should store your wig in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Q: How long does a wig last?
A: The lifespan of a wig depends on several factors, such as the quality of the hair, the frequency of wear, and the level of care. Generally speaking, human hair wigs last longer than synthetic hair wigs. A human hair wig can last up to a year or more with proper care and maintenance. A synthetic hair wig can last up to six months with proper care and maintenance.
Q: What is the difference between human hair and synthetic hair wigs?
A: Human hair and synthetic hair wigs have different advantages and disadvantages. Human hair wigs are more natural-looking, versatile, and durable than synthetic hair wigs. They can be styled with heat tools and colored or permed as desired. However, they are also more expensive, require more care and maintenance, and are affected by humidity and weather conditions. Synthetic hair wigs are more affordable, easy to care for, and resistant to environmental factors than human hair wigs. They also retain their shape and style after washing. However, they are also less realistic-looking, less flexible, and less durable than human hair wigs. They cannot be styled with heat tools or altered chemically.
Q: What is a lace front wig?
A: A lace front wig is a type of wig that has a thin strip of lace along the front hairline. The lace is trimmed and glued or taped to the forehead, creating a natural and seamless look. The lace front wig allows you to style your hair away from your face and create various partings.
Q: What is a monofilament wig?
A: A monofilament wig is a type of wig that has a transparent mesh material at the top or crown of the cap. The hair is individually hand-tied to the mesh, creating the illusion of natural hair growth. The monofilament wig allows you to change the direction and position of the hair and create various partings.
Q: How do I apply a lace front wig?
A: To apply a lace front wig, you need to prepare your hair and scalp, trim the lace, apply glue or tape, and attach the wig. You can follow these steps:
1. Wash your hair and scalp with shampoo and conditioner. Dry your hair and scalp thoroughly.
2. Braid your hair or wrap it in a wig cap. Make sure your hair is flat and smooth under the cap.
3. Try on the wig and adjust it to fit your head. Mark where you want the hairline to be with an eyebrow pencil.
4. Remove the wig and trim the excess lace along the hairline with scissors. Leave about 1/4 inch of lace for a natural look.
5. Apply glue or tape along the hairline where you marked it with the pencil. Wait for the glue or tape to become tacky.
6. Put on the wig and align it with the glue or tape. Press down firmly and hold for a few seconds.
7. Style your wig as desired.
Q: How do I remove a lace front wig?
A: To remove a lace front wig, you need to use a solvent, such as alcohol or oil, to dissolve the glue or tape. You can follow these steps:
1. Apply the solvent along the hairline where the lace is attached. Wait for a few minutes until the glue or tape loosens up.
2. Gently peel off the lace from your forehead. Be careful not to pull or tug on the lace or your hair.
3. Clean your scalp and hair with shampoo and conditioner. Dry your scalp and hair thoroughly.
4. Clean your wig with shampoo and conditioner. Dry your wig on a wig stand or a towel.
